Eudyptula minor

Little Blue Penguin

Dolphin Marine Conservation Park has a flock of 12 Little Blue Penguins living at the park.

Most of the oldest birds were rescued from local Coffs Harbour beaches with injuries that prevented their release, whilst the younger penguins have either hatched right here at Dolphin Marine Conservation Park or were transferred from other facilities as a part of the managed Australian Little Penguin breeding program.

All the penguins at Dolphin Marine Conservation Park wear leg bands to make them easily identifiable to the Marine Mammal Specialists although a few particularly cheeky individuals (favourites of the Marine Mammal Specialists) can usually be recognised by staff on sight!
