14km of fishing line dumped – in a good way!
NSW SUMMARY REPORT 2015
Exciting things are unfolding since the launch of the NSW Seal the Loop program. Since 2013 with the help of our Volunteer Community Bin Collectors we have collected over 14 km of fishing line; over 2.5kg! With the support from three councils; Coffs Harbour, Bellingen & Nambucca Shire the program has expanded to over 27 Bins between Nambucca Heads to Red Rock. Over 15 Schools and 10 Local Businesses actively on board with The Seal the Loop Program. This Program is continuing its ongoing goal to raise public awareness of the effects of fishing waste on the marine environment; encouraging to keep our coastline clean.
